New & Returning Students

Fresno City College, California's first community college, is a comprehensive learning community offering innovative instructional programs in anticipation of and responsive to the lifelong learning needs of our diverse population.

Fresno City College is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, an institutional accrediting body recognized by the Commission on Recognition of Post secondary Accreditation and the U.S. Department of Education.

New Students

  1. Complete an application for admission. Applications are available either on-line or you can request an application by calling (559) 442-4600, ext. 8225. Please understand: Admission to the college does not guarantee admission into all programs.
  2. Apply for financial aid if you feel that you qualify. Learn more now!
  3. Take appropriate placement tests. Call (559) 442-8282 for test information or see the current Placement Testing Schedule
  4. Receive your registration materials. Registration materials will be mailed to you beginning in April for Summer/Fall semester registration and beginning in November for spring registration.
  5. Attend an orientation during your scheduled registration period. You receive advice on classes to take, learn about our degree programs, learn how to use the catalog and class schedule, and register for classes. Contact College Relations at (559) 442-8225 to schedule an orientation date.
  6. Remember to pay your fees, get your ASB Card, Parking Permit & Library Card.

High school juniors and seniors interested in taking classes through the High School Enrichment Program should contact College Relations at (559) 442-8225.

Students Previously Enrolled

If you previously attended one the State Center Community College Districts' (SCCCD) colleges or centers (FCC, Reedley, Madera, Clovis Oakhurst) and are returning after an absence of one or more semesters, you must reapply by completing an application for admission.

  1. Complete an application on-line or call (559) 442-4600 extension 8225 for an application.
  2. Receive your registration materials. Registration materials are mailed to all returning students beginning in April for Summer/Fall semester registration and beginning in November for spring semester registration.
  3. Register and pay your fees, make sure to get your parking permit, ASB Card and Library Card.

The information on the web site is prepared by the Office of Instruction, and published through the Public Information Office. Some areas provide individual course materials and instructor's areas.
